Any comments on the hand feel of Enduro-Var gloss and/or satin? The one guitar I did in KTM-9 had significant "drag" as I ran my hand across the finish. This is especially noticeable on the neck, not a good feel. Wonder what others have experienced with Enduro-Var.

I only have one data point, I recently completed my first guitar and used Satin Enduro-Var on the neck and Gloss on the body. I did not notice any drag or stickiness on the neck. My only comparison is factory instruments that I've played over the years. Nothing felt out of the ordinary. I buffed it up to fine Menzerna to a nice shine, but didn't feel any noticeable drag. I only played it for a week before it went to the owner. I'll ask him if he's noticed anything.

Edit: Looked at your site, those are beautiful instruments!

Did one completely in gloss and the neck was just fine. May have felt a little bit stiicky off the buff, but that disappeared after a few minutes playing.
Going to try the matt on the next one, it was recommended as very good for necks by John Greven IIRC

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm reassured, ordered some, will post back in a couple weeks.

Looking forward to your post. The owner of the guitar I mentioned also didn't notice anything about the neck feeling sticky or feeling drag. Same as me, he is comparing to factory guitars.

I'll be interested in your spray schedule if your willing to share it.

I believe John Greven uses Enduro-var -- prices start at about $5000
